Worcester College is part of the University of Oxford, and its chapel holds regular services during term, many of which are sung by the Chapel Choirs. There is a regular Monday lunchtime discussion group in the Chaplain's rooms and many special events throughout the term.

Special Services and events this Term
The Woodroffe Society
Every Monday lunchtime from 12.30 p.m. until 2.00 p.m. a group meets in the Chaplain’s room for a free lunch to talk about such topics as ethics, the arts, science and religion, faith, doubt, the bible or just life. All are welcome to this open, non-judgmental and frank discussion group. If you are interested in joining this group then please then please speak to the Chaplain or just come along.
The Woodroffe Society Dinner
The Society Dinner is open to all members of College and provides a forum to discuss moral, ethical and religious issues. This term the society meets at 7 pm on Tuesday 14th February (fifth week) in the Linbury Building for a formal dinner (£16 charge to battels). The speaker is John Hedley Brooke, formerly Professor of Science and Religion at Oxford University, who will be speaking on ‘Demythologising Oxford’s “Great Debate”: Wilberforce and Huxley on Human Ancestry’. If you would like to come to this event then please contact the Chaplain.
Candlemas – Candlelit Eucharist with St. Peter’s College Chapel Choir
For the feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple (Candlemas) the mixed choir will be joined by the choir of St. Peter’s College for a joint Choral Eucharist in Chapel on Thursday 2nd February (third week) at 6.00 p.m. All welcome.
Christian Union Main Event
The Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union (OICCU) will be holding their ‘Main Event’ between 6th -11th February (fourth week) entitled ‘This is Jesus’. OICCU invites students across Oxford to take a fresh look at Jesus. Lunch time and evening events led by Mike Cain and Tim Keller in the Town Hall. For more information see www.thisisjesus.org.
Plainsong by Candlelight
On Monday 13th February, the mixed choir will sing a candlelit plainchant votive office in Chapel at 6.15 p.m. The texts and chants are drawn from surviving medieval English liturgical manuscripts. All are welcome.
Hereford Sixth Form College Choir sing Evensong in Chapel
On Wednesday 15th February at 6.15 p.m. in Chapel the Choir of Hereford Sixth Form College will be visiting us to sing Evensong. All welcome.
Ash Wednesday with Allegri’s Miserere
The traditional ceremony of the Imposition of Ashes to mark the beginning of Lent will take place during a Sung Eucharist on Wednesday 22nd February (sixth week) at 6.00 p.m. in the Chapel. Music will include Allegri’s beautiful setting of Psalm 51, the Miserere
Restorative Justice Talk
The Restorative Justice talk, with guest speaker, will take place in the Memorial Room on Thursday 8th March at 1 p.m. This is in association with the Oxfordshire Restorative Justice Network. Free lunch. All welcome.
Concert in St. Barnabas Church, Jericho
The boy choristers’ choir will join the choir of St. Barnabas School for a concert at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday 6th March in St. Barnabas Church, Jericho. Music by Gardner, Parry, Britten Copland and more. For further information and tickets, please contact the Chaplain. All welcome.
